Six years building for retailers whose customers take weeks to decide.
Stitchwork is made by the team behind Moonlight, the digital agency that designs, builds and looks after the websites and systems behind considered purchases. It is what that work taught us a showroom needs, built with the care we give the systems our clients trade on every day.
Built from years of client work, not from a pitch deck.
What we build
Our team designs, builds and supports the commerce behind high-value, high-consideration purchases: the orders that take a conversation, and often more than one visit. The websites, the checkout and finance integrations, the product data and the reporting that says what is selling.
A stranger in the showroom
Across six years of that work, one problem kept coming back. A customer spends weeks researching on the website, then walks into the showroom as a stranger. The website and the shop floor keep separate notes, and the sale rests on one salesperson's memory.
One memory for the whole business
Stitchwork is what we built to fix it: one record of each client, carried from the website into the room and back out again, so the whole business remembers what the customer told any part of it.
Online
- Browses the range
- Comes back to one piece, three times
- Asks for a quote
In the room
- Walks in
- Picks up where the website left off
- Pays the deposit
What makes software trustworthy is mostly the part you never see.
A clienteling system holds the most valuable thing a retailer owns: what it knows about its clients. So we built Stitchwork the way we would want it built if it held our own, and we publish enough of the detail for your developers to check.
-
Each shop walled off at the database.
Every workspace is separated by the database's own access rules, not by careful code alone, so one retailer's clients can never appear in another's.
-
It won't break your website.
One script, tested against a deliberately hostile page. It cannot throw an error into your site, and it follows the consent banner you already run.
-
Privacy built in, not bolted on.
Consent is kept by channel and date in a record the database won't let anyone edit. Visitor IP addresses are hashed, never stored, and Global Privacy Control is honoured.
-
AI on a short lead.
The assistant runs on Claude, sees only what the person asking can see, and never sends a message itself. Connecting your own AI takes a named seat you can switch off at once.
-
Your money, in your own account.
Deposits and balances, taken online or on a card reader at the counter, are paid straight into your own Stripe account.
-
Tested, and written down.
More than 9,000 automated checks test how the product behaves, and the full documentation is public, so your developers or agency can check our work before you sign anything.
And the claims on this page? Each one is checked against a written record of what the software actually does, and the prices on this site are tested against the code that bills them.
David McMenemy
Founder of Stitchwork · Leads Moonlight
David leads Moonlight's work with retailers, from the first strategy conversation to the systems that go live, and founded Stitchwork to give those retailers what no website could: one memory of every client, shared by the whole business.
His work sits where online and in person meet: how weeks of research on a website should change the conversation in the showroom, and how that conversation should shape what the customer sees next. That join is what Stitchwork is built around, and David leads its product.
The questions a careful buyer asks.
Talk to the people who built it.
A walkthrough on your own catalogue, with your kind of client, and every question about how it is built answered by someone who knows. Leave your details and a person will be in touch, usually the same day.
